The Lions pitching staff dominated the Keiser Seahawks offense game 1 of the 3-game conference series.
Christian Rivera improved his record to 4-3 as he earned the victory pitching 6 innings, surrendering 6 hits, walking 1 batter and striking out 4. Ian Romero,
Christian Suarez, and
Kyle Parks each pitched one inning in relief while Parks earned his 3rd save of the season.
Leading the offensive charge for the Lions was
Edison Cabrera, earning 3 hits out of 5 plate appearances.
Jose Chavez, went 2-4 with a double and
Argenis Hernandez hit a solo homerun over the left field wall in the top of the 5th inning. Three runs was all the Lions would need as they cruised to a 3-1 victory.
The victory improved the Lions' record to 20-14, 8-8 TSC on the season and Keiser University drops to 21-14, 8-8 TSC. The 20th victory makes it back to back seasons with 20 wins for Coach Burgos and the Lions.
The Lions will look to take the series on Saturday as they play game two and three as a double header.
