The Florida Memorial University Lions baseball team (14-8, 4-5 TSC) opened up a 3-game series this afternoon against the Braynt and Stratton College Bobcats (5-9) at the Harry T. Moore Field at FMU. 
The Lions extended their current winning streak to seven games by defeating the Bobcats 9-1. The Lions pounced on the Bobcats in the bottom of the first inning when 
Darrin Brown singled in 2 runs to give the Lions the early lead. The Lions would add another run in the bottom of the second inning to give the Lions a 3-0 lead. In the top of the third inning the Bobcats took advantage of a Lion's error and scored a run. However, the Lions would explode on offense in the bottom of the third inning and scored 6 unanswered runs to give starting pitcher, 
Christian Rivera, a comfortable lead to work with. Rivera pitched 7 innings, scattered 3 hits, walked 4 batters, and struck out 7 to earn the victory. 
The Lions were led by left-fielder, 
Jouseph Renovales who had 3 base hits in 5 plate appearances, scored 2 runs and had 2 RBI. 
Darrin Brown and 
Raymond Guerrero each had 2 RBI for the Lions. 
The Lions will play a double-header tomorrow, Saturday, March 9th at 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. at the Harry T. Moore Field at FMU.
