The Southeastern University Fire (37-4, 14-0 TSC) defeated the Lions of Florida Memorial University (20-18, 8-12 TSC) in game 2 of the 3-game series. 
The Lions jumped to a 3-0 lead early in this game. The Lions looked determined to even things up as they were defeated in game one by 10 runs. However, the Fire proved why they are the nation's top ranked team in the NAIA. 
With the score 3-0 in favor of the Lions, the Fire scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 4th inning to make it a 3-2 Lions lead. In the Fire would tie the score 3-3 in the bottom of the 5th inning by a solo homerun from the designated hitter. In the bottom of the 6th inning, 
Ian Romano came in on relief of 
Christian Suarez and surrendered a solo homerun giving the Fire the lead, 3-4. 
The Lions would suffer a disastrous 7th inning as the Fire scored 10 runs leaving the Lions on the field and winning again by the 10-run rule (Mercy Rule). The Fire would earn a total of 16 hits, of which 3 were doubles, and 4 were home runs. 
For the Lions, 
Ian Romano suffered the loss, Jacques Perry and 
Luis Rivera had 2 hits each. 
The Lions will hope to salvage game 3 of the 3-game series in the second half of the double header.
