(WEST PALM BEACH, FLA) -- Florida Memorial University's men's soccer team was unable to end Palm Beach Atlantic's win streak, falling 5-1 to the ninth-ranked Sailfish on Monday, September 16.
PBA now extends their record to 6-0 over FMU in the last 10 years. The Lions played 40 minutes of phenomenal defense against the Sailfish.
Both teams remained scoreless until a Palm Beach goal was scored at the 41:38 mark. Two and a half minutes later PBA would score again to take a 2-0 lead going into the half.
That lead was extended to three five minutes into the second half of the match but the Lions would answer back when senior
Jose Isaac Romero scored at the 56:21 mark on an assist from classmate
Caleb Acosta.
The game would remain 3-1 for another 20 minutes before two more Palm Beach goals gave the Sailfish a comfortable lead and the win.
Romero's goal came from his only shot of the game while Acosta led the team with three shots, two of which were on goal.
Sophomore goalie
Angel Garcia finished with five saves in the match.
Join the Lions on Friday, September 20 when they travel to Nova Southeastern for a 7 p.p. matchup.
