(MIAMI, FLA) -- In the first conference game of the season, the Florida Memorial University women's soccer team lost 0-10 to St. Thomas University, Wednesday, September 25.
The Lions, now 0-1 in conference play and 0-7 overall has a tough road ahead of them and today's match gave them the opportunity to size up their conference opponents.
St. Thomas scored three goals within four minutes to take a 3-0 lead over Florida Memorial starting in the 15th minute.
Sophomore
Thalita Azevedo took three of the four FMU shots in the match, two of which were on goal. The other shot came from junior
Thalia Leal.
Another sophomore
Garcy Momplaisir finished the match with six saves.
Facing sickness and down two players in the last few minutes of the game, the Lions continued the fight and played to the last second.
Florida Memorial will hosts Thomas University, Saturday, September 28 at 2 P.M.
