(MIAMI GARDENS, FLA.) -- The Florida Memorial University women's soccer team moved to 0-1 in conference play after a tough 0-12 loss to Thomas University on Saturday, September 28.
FMU started out with great energy but unfortunately that was not enough to stop their opponent's quick scoring.
The Lions were not able to get past the Night Hawks defense to make an attempt on goal until the second half, which came from a free kick by sophomore, Brenda Agnon.
Thomas University scored their first goal in the 25th minute and closed out the half with a 5-0 lead.
The second half of the match proved to be even tougher for the Lions whose roster size doesn't allow for much recovery time.
The Night Hawks would scored seven more points before closing out the match.
Sophomore
Thalita Azevedo and Agnon finished the game with two shots each while junior
Mordia Johnson ended the match with one shot on goal.
Another sophomore, goalkeeper
Garcy Momplaisir, ended the day with seven saves.
Their next match will take place Wednesday, October 2 when they host Webber International University. The match will begin at 1 P.M.
