DAVIE, FLA) -- After their first two matches of the season were disrupted the women's soccer team finally took the field against Nova Southeastern University that ended in a 15-0 loss, Saturday, September 7.
The Sharks proved to be a challenge right away for the Lions as they scored their first goal within the first 10 minutes of the game. Within the next 10 they went on to take a 3-0 lead.
By the half Florida Memorial was trailing 11-0 and had only taken one shot. Sophomore goalkeeper
Garcy Momplaisir collected five saves from Nova's 32 shots. She finished the game with nine saves.
In the second half, the Lions picked up the tempo and played better defense. They were able to hold the Sharks to only four goals this time around and 22 shots.
All three of FMU's shots taken in the game came from senior
Jazmine Rosas and all three were on goal.
The Lions will travel the short distance to St. Thomas, Tuesday, September 10 to take on the Bobcats at 7 P.M.
