MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – That didn't take long.
In just its second beach volleyball match of the season, Florida Memorial University earned its first regular season victory of 2020 – defeating Ave Maria University 3-2 Saturday morning.
The match, which was played on neutral sand at St. Thomas University, was the Lions' second in as many days, as they played their season-opener Friday afternoon.
Florida Memorial (1-1) was able to manufacture its victory thanks to wins by No. 1 team
Rachele Mancinelli and Agustina Busque; No. 4 pair
Francheska Rivera and
Alanis Santana; and No. 5 pair
Azmabeth Infante /
Keisha Santana Roldan.
Up next for FMU is the FIU Beach Volleyball Tournament, which will take place at Florida International University main campus (11200 SW 8th Street, Miami, Florida 33199) on February 28-29 and feature teams from around the country.
