Lions WSOC Fall To No. 2 Keiser Thursday

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Florida Memorial University's women's soccer program couldn't find the same magic it had earlier this week when it captured its first win of the season, as it fell 7-0 to visiting No. 2 Keiser University Thursday at Dr. Lester Brown Park.

It was going to be a gargantuan task for the Lions to upset the nationally ranked power Thursday – in the team's final home game of the 2021 season, especially for a FMU roster that is still shorthanded.

Florida Memorial (1-13, 0-9 The Sun Conference) had a tough day in terms of generating any offensive opportunities. The Lions weren't credited with any shots or corner kicks while Keiser (13-1, 8-0) took 36 and 8 respectively. KU jumped out to a 5-0 by the end of the first half and saw its reserves tack on a pair of goals in the final 45 minutes.

Up next for FMU will be a weekend trip to Ave Maria University for a Saturday afternoon (1 p.m.) showdown with the Gyrenes – a chance for the Lions to capture their first conference win of the season.
