FMU WBB Falters In Fourth, Falls To Brewton-Parker Wednesday

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Florida Memorial University saw a 10-point, fourth-quarter lead evaporate over the final four minutes of the game and ended up dropping a tough game 74-70 to Brewton-Parker College (Ga.) Wednesday afternoon in the Keiser Holiday Classic at KU's Student Life Center.
 
How It Happened
  • FMU held a 10-point lead with 4:06 left in the fourth quarter after a Natalia Leguizamon breakaway layup.
  • Brewton-Parker went on an 8-1 run to cut into the Lions' advantage.
  • Florida Memorial surrendered its lead with 0:50 left in the fourth quarter after a Samerria Bryant three-pointer put BPC ahead 71-70.
  • FMU's Chantel Barnett missed a layup and Keaynna Tolbert missed a pair of free throws that could've put the Lions ahead during the final minute.
  • The Lions ended up not scoring over the final 1:10 of the game.
  • Brewton-Parker made three free throws over
  • After trailing by eight at halftime, FMU outscored Brewton-Parker 25-11 in the third quarter to take a six-point lead into the fourth quarter.
