FMU Beach Takes Down Southeastern & St. Thomas At Tri-Duel

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Florida Memorial University's beach volleyball team, the preseason favorite to win the Sun Conference title, looked the part of a No. 1 team as it picked up overall match wins against both Southeastern University and St. Thomas University Saturday in tri-duel on STU's Beach Volleyball Courts.

Unlike indoor volleyball, beach volleyball is played with only two players on the court at a time for each team. Each team has five different pairs compete in matches and each tandem will play a best two-out-of-three match. The first two sets go to 21 points with the potential third match going to 15 points. In order for a team to win the overall match, at least three of its pairs must win their head-to-head matches.

The Lady Lions (2-0, 2-0 The Sun Conference) took down Southeastern 3-2 in the opening match of the day and flexed its muscle against neighborhood rival St. Thomas – defeating the Bobcats 4-1.

Individual match scores were not immediately provided; this recap will be updated once the final statistics are received
