Lions MBB Dominate Webber International Thursday, Cruise To Largest Win

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Florida Memorial University threw down emphatic dunks, swatted shots, drained three-pointers, and was all smiles as five players finished with double digit points as it cruised to a wire-to-wire 103-65 win over visiting Webber International University Thursday night – setting new season-highs for largest margin of victory and most points scored in a game this season.

How It Happened
  • After leading by 32 points at halftime, FMU continued to run roughshod over the Warriors – opening a 40-point lead through the first seven minutes of the second half and expanding that out to 49 – the largest margin of the night – after a Devin Ramsey layup at the 7:17 mark.
  • Florida Memorial's defense swarmed and completely stymied Webber's guards, forcing 20 turnovers on the night, many of which led to easy points in transition.
  • FMU saw three-pointers fall at a 40-percent clip, including knocking down seven long-range shots in the second half.
  • The Lions truly pulled away from WIU over a five-minute stretch in the first half, going on a 20-4 run to turn a 19-12 lead into an overwhelming 39-16 advantage over the Warriors.
  • FMU flexed its muscle from the onset, jumping out to a 10-lead in the first four minutes of the game.

  • Carington Campbell and Corey Benton both finished with 10 points as four of FMU's five starters all finished with double-digit point totals.
