FMU Lions devour Florida College 8-1 behind Caicedo's hat trick

Box Score TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. | Florida Memorial dismantled Florida College 8-1 in non-conference action behind striker Alejandro Caicedo's hat trick, scoring three goals in the lopsided victory.

The Lions (2-7-4, 1-3-2,) broke the scoreless match in the sixth minute when Geovannie Lake found senior Tajay Russell for FMU's first goal. Minutes later, Lake generated his second assist, finding Caicedo for another Lions goal.

In the 31st minute, Caicedo scored his second goal of the match to give the Lions an early 3-0 lead going into halftime.

Senior Johan Godoy started things off in the second half, scoring goal number four for the Lions in the 65th minute while teammate Jaheim Rose sealed the deal for FMU in the 72nd minute with another FMU goal.

Before the final whistle, Caicedo, Brad Tulley and Lake each added insurance goals. FMU goalkeeper Juan Palacio finished with three saves and allowed just one goal in 90 minutes of action.

Florida Memorial continues action on Saturday, October 29 as they travel to Lake Wales to face Warner in conference competition. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
