FMU produces 5 scorers in double-figures in 89-46 victory over Fort Lauderdale

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | Florida Memorial got off to a hot start and never looked back, resulting in a 89-46 blowout victory over Fort Lauderdale in non-conference action at the FMU Wellness Center. The Lions produced a total of five scorers in double-figures, including 19 points and 13 boards from Aliyah-Deen Ahmad, who was just four assists shy of a triple-double.

FMU jumped out to a 12-point lead after the first quarter thanks to stellar shooting and tough defense. Tianna Ayulo was solid on both ends of the floor, scoring 16 points to go along with seven boards while teammate Chantell Gonzalez proved to be a dominant force on the block as she finished with 12 points, seven rebounds and four blocks.

As a team, Florida Memorial forced 33 turnovers that resulted in 27 points. The Lions also dominated the interior, scoring 58 points in the paint compared to just 24 for the Eagles.
