FMU WBB Cruises Past Thomas University, Extends Win Streak To Six

THOMASVILLE, Ga. – Monique Esbrand and Natalia Leguizamon tied for the game-high with 21 points each as Florida Memorial University shot 50 percent from the field as a team in its 101-71 win over host Thomas University Saturday afternoon – extending the Lions' season-best winning streak to six games.
 
How It Happened
  • FMU turned an 11-point first-quarter lead into a 28-point advantage heading into overtime.
  • The Lions (14-6, 10-2 The Sun Conference) forced Thomas into 22 turnovers and generated 27 points from those errors.
  • Florida Memorial opened up as large as a 33-point lead (90-57) midway through the fourth quarter after a Jamari Tillman three-pointer capped a 9-0 run.
  • FMU shot 44 percent from three-point range and drained a season-high 15 three-pointers – including seven from Leguizamon.
  • Thomas University (1-18, 1-12) made just seven total field goals in the first half.
