MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Florida Memorial University will be looking to channel its inner "David" when it takes against a goliath foe in No. 10 College of Coastal Georgia this weekend in a three-game weekend series beginning Friday in Brunswick, Georgia.

About The Lions (1-12, 0-9 SUN)
  • FMU rolls into the weekend on a couple days rest following its midweek series against Ave Maria University.
  • The Lions were swept in the series but did flash signs of offensive potency – like it has at various times this season.
  • Freshmen infielders Jadlyn Dixon and Trinity Hobley recorded the program's first grand slam and home run respectively during the series against the Gyrenes.
  • Florida Memorial also matched its season-high for runs in an inning – six – in the third game of the series against AMU.
  • When taking on College of Coastal Georgia this weekend, it will be the first time that FMU will take the field against a nationally ranked opponent.

Scouting No. 10 Coastal Georgia (22-2, 5-1 SUN)
  • CCGA enters the weekend with a sour taste in its mouth after it had a 13-game winning streak snapped in 3-2 loss at University of South Carolina-Beaufort in the third game of their weekend series this past weekend.
  • Ranked No. 10 in the last two NAIA National Softball Coaches' Top 25 Polls, the Mariners began the season on a nine-game win streak before dropping a game to No. 11 Georgia Gwinnett College back in February.
  • Junior pitcher Hayley Dickerson is Coastal Georgia's ace, compiling a 10-2 record this season while carrying an ERA of 1.69 and averaging almost six strikeouts per game.
  • The Mariners have finished with a final record above .500 for each of the past five seasons under head coach Mike Minick.
  • Eight CCGA players are hitting at least .300 this season, led by Sarah Thinger's .434 batting average.
