Florida Memorial Softball Day One Games At Fortune Road Tournament Canceled Due To Inclement Weather

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Florida Memorial University's first appearance in the Fortune Road/The Spring Games Softball Tournament got off to a soggy start as it had both of its Wednesday games canceled due to inclement weather.

The Lions were set to face Cornerstone University (Mich.) and Saint Xavier University (Ill.) at 3:45 p.m. and 6 p.m. respectively Wednesday but torrential downpours of rain rolled through the Fortune Road Sports Complex as FMU had just began the first inning of the game against Cornerstone.

Tournament elected to cancel the evening's remaining games for the safety of the student-athletes.

The Lions will prepare for the second act of the three-day tournament, where they are set to play two games – against Pennsylvania State University-Hazleton and Trinity Christian College (Ill.)
