Errors Hurt FMU Baseball Saturday, Lions Drop Series Finale To No. 1 Southeastern

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Similar to game one Friday, Florida Memorial University had some offensive pop in the early innings and even held a slim lead but saw that offensive output dwindle over the remainder of the game as No. 1 Southeastern University consistent plated runs throughout and handed the Lions a 9-6 loss Saturday at Harry T. • FMU cut into its deficit in the bottom of the sixth, producing four hits – including RBI singles by Axel Gomez and Luis Ruiz – to make it a 7-6 game.
  • The Fire extended its lead again in the top of the eighth on a sacrifice fly and a took advantage of a Lions breakdown, getting a run on a passed ball.
  • Florida Memorial couldn't get any kind of rally going in the final two innings – grounding into a double play to end the eighth and succumbing to a strikeout to end the game.
