Box Score DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. | The FMU Lions soccer team fell 1-0 against NCAA Division II opponent Embry Riddle Aeronautical University at ERAU Soccer Stadium in heartbreaking fashion.
In the first half, Florida Memorial (0-4-1) stood strong with the Eagles in a very even contest. The Lions had several opportunities to score the go-ahead goal, but Embry-Riddle's goalkeeper Thomas Loesel produced a game-high nine saves and literally single-handedly saved the Eagles, especially late in the second half. Joshua Aranzazu was equally brilliant, keeping his team alive until a late second-half substitution for back-up keeper Juan Palacios.
In the 84th minute, Lions defender Steven Jean-Pierre picked up his second yellow card for a foul in the box, giving Embry-Riddle a life-line and a penalty kick. Moments later, Eagles substitute Sandro Henning calmly nailed the go-ahead goal (PK) in the dying moments of the match to seal the deal for Embry-Riddle.
Both teams finished with 15 shots apiece, but Florida Memorial dominated shots on goal with nine, compared to its counterpart who finished with three. FMU generated a total of five corner kicks while Embry-Riddle finished with seven corners.

Jose Garcia led FMU with a total of three shots in the loss, including a team-high two shots on frame.
