NEW YORK, N.Y. | The Florida Memorial women's track and field team recently participated in the HBCU Showcase in at the Armory Track & Field Center in New York City. With a time of 4:00.34, the FMU 4x400 relay team finished in third place out of 13 teams. The relay team was comprised of
Qunizel Bazilio,
Denai Wilson,
Monique Brown and
Anitria Sangster. Overall, the Lions finished 11th out of 16 Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
In the women's 200 meter dash, Wilson picked up a sixth place finish, posting a time of 25.66 while teammate Sangster finished in eighth place with a time of 25.77. With a time of 26.22, Bazilio managed a 12th place finish.
In the women's triple jump,
Andreana Graham earned a ninth place finish, leaping a distance of 10.38 meters while teammate
Nevaeh Chase placed 11th, leaping a distance of 8.82.
With a distance of 5.44 meters, Graham also earned a fifth place finish in the long jump.
In the women's 800 meter run,
Monique Brown produced an eighth place finish, posting a time of 2:29.45.
To round out the field events,
Ryeyauni Bush generated a 15th place finish in the weight throw, throwing a distance of 11.36 meters. With a distance of 9.20 meters, Bush also finished 18th in the shot put.
