KINGSPORT, Tenn. | Florida Memorial men's basketball team won their seventh game in a row, this time by the score of 85-72 over Union (Ky.) on Black Friday in game one of "The Show."
The Lions only needed two scorers in double-figures to earn their seventh victory in a row to start the Delano Thomas era. FMU was led by
Azubuike Nwankwo who produced a team-high 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the field to go along with six boards, two steals and one block in 22 minutes of action. Fellow Lion
Raheem Carter finished with 13 points, two assists and two rebounds in the win.
As a team, Florida Memorial dominated the interior and finished with twice as many points in the paint (48) compared to just 24 for their opponent.

Latavious Mitchell added eight points, seven rebounds and three assists in the double-digit victory as the Lions prepare for a highly anticipated contest in less than 24 hours.
Florida Memorial returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 24 as they battle Shawnee State in game two of "The Show." Tip-off is slated for 7:45 p.m. in Kingsport, Tenn. as Coach Thomas gets set to face his former team which he was named NAIA Men's Basketball Coach of the Year as well as the Don Meyer Coach of the Year while earning a national championship in 2021, leading the Bears to a 31-2 record.
