Box Score KINGSPORT, Tenn. | After trailing by 11 points at the break, the Lions outscored Shawnee State 47-31 in the second half to complete the comeback and grab the win over the Bears by a final score of 75-70 in game two of "The Show." The win marks the first contest between first year head coach Delano Thomas and his former team, who won an NAIA National Championship under his direction in 2021.
The first half proved to be difficult for the Lions as they shot a season low 33 percent from the field and trailed by double digits. However, FMU came to life in the latter half, hitting over 54 percent of their shots from the field. The Bears finished 24-of-32 from the free-throw line while the Lions buried 13 of their 19 free throws.
Florida Memorial produced a total of four scorers in double figures, including guard
Evan Busby, who produced a team-high 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the field while teammate
Jaiden Guice added 13 points, nailing 4-of-6 from the charity stripe in just 17 minutes of action. NAIA All-American
Chanze Cruesoe chipped in with 12 points, five assists and three steals while
Felix Uadiale produced 10 points and eight boards in the slim victory.
