MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | After dropping the series opener by the score of 4-3, the Lions roared back and swept Fort Lauderdale in a doubleheader at the Harry T. Moore Baseball Field, winning game one by the score 6-2 then defeating the Eagles 3-1 as four Lions pitchers combined for a no-hitter.
"I'm happy how we responded after the first game of the series," said FMU head coach

The Lions took the lead in the third inning when
Allan Berrios generated a sacrifice-fly RBI that brought home
Pheron Charlton. In the fourth,
Elijah Jordan produced an RBI-single that scored
Luis Ruiz.
Jalen Young added another run in the fifth inning before Ruiz produced an RBI-single that allowed Berrios to touch home plate, bringing the score to 4-0 in favor of FMU. Later in the inning,
Gianni Tusa generated an RBI-single to third base which brought home Ruiz.
The Lions added an insurance run in the bottom of the seventh when
Levis Aguila produced an RBI that brought home
Ulises Rodriguez.
Starting pitcher
William Hiciano (1-0) dominated game one, striking out nine Eagles batters in six innings, allowing just one run while teammate
Diego Coss came in relief, striking out three Eagles batters in two innings. In the ninth inning,
Kyle Morrison came to close the game and was able to end the final inning with ease.

Kyle Morrison (save) made history and produced a no-hitter against the Eagles.
The Lions return to action on Wednesday, February 22 as they host Florida National in non-conference action. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. at the Harry T. Moore Baseball Field.
