Ahmad's 31 points and 12 rebounds lift Lions to 12th straight conference win

FMU destroys Thomas 97-62 and remain first place in the conference.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | Florida Memorial won their 12th straight conference contest behind three-time Women's Basketball Sun Conference player of the Week, Aliyah-Deen Ahmad, who finished with a game-high 31 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, three steals and one block in just 31 minutes of action as the Lions won 97-62 over Thomas at the FMU Wellness Center.

FMU (18-5, 12-1) jumped out to a 23-8 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Two-time Women's Basketball Sun Conference Player of the Week Tianna Ayulo also had a spectacular game with 25 points, four boards, four assists, two blocks, and two steals while teammate Chantel Barnett added 20 points, six boards, two assists and one block before fouling out.

Teri Evans and Quameerah Peterson-Gray both chipped in with eight points apiece in the lopsided victory.

The Lions return to action on Thursday, February 9 as they face Ave Maria. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. in Ave Maria.
