WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. | Florida Memorial dropped the mid-week series against Keiser in the final inning of the rubber match, but won game two of Tuesday's doubleheader by the score of 8-6 at the Alumni Field.

The Lions took an early lead in the top of the second inning when
Trinity Hobley produced an RBI-single to left field that brought home
Ciara Justice for the first run of the ball game. However, Keiser countered in the bottom stanza with three runs of their own. The Seahawks added an additional two runs in the third and another in the fourth to take a 6-1 lead over the Lions.
FMU made a furious comeback attempt in the top of the sixth when Hobley generated an RBI-single to center field with the bases loaded to score
Emily Albelo. Moments later,
Karah Atkins hit a two-RBI double that scored Justice and
Breanna Reyes, bringing the score to 6-4, but the Lions couldn't quite finish the job on the road.
Breana Morales (1-7) was credited with the loss as she allowed just two hits, but gave up four runs in just two innings before being replaced by
Gabriela Pinto, who pitched a total of four innings, allowing just two runs while producing one strikeout.

FMU got behind early as Keiser poured in four runs in the bottom of the first, but the Lions responded with three runs in the top of the second inning when
Kayla Jade Morales produced an RBI-double down the right field line that scored Hobley.
Aashana Francis generated an RBI-single to left center that scored Atkins. Taylor then followed up with a sacrifice-fly RBI that brought home Morales, bringing the score to 4-3 in favor of the Seahawks.
In the top of the fourth inning, FMU added another three runs to take a 6-4 lead as Reyes hit an RBI-single to left center, scoring Francis. Moments later, Albelo generated a two-RBI double to center field that brought home
Bryanna Curry and
Heidy Olivo.
The Lions added two insurance runs in the top of the fifth inning when Reyes hit a two-RBI single that scored Francis and Morales.
Gabriela Pinto (5-1) was credited with the win as she pitched a complete game, allowing nine hits, four earned runs and generated four strikeouts in the victory.

The Lions jumped out on top with two quick runs when Justice produced a two-RBI double to right center that allowed B. Reyes and Olivo to score. However, Keiser responded with a run in the bottom of the second and an additional two runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 3-2 lead.
With their backs against the wall, FMU tied the game 3-3 in the top of the sixth inning when Atkins produced a clutch two-out RBI-single that scored Curry from second base.
However, the Seahawks responded with seven runs in the bottom stanza to take a 10-3 lead, eventually winning the mid-week series in dramatic fashion in front of their home crowd.
Francis (1-1) was credited with the loss as she allowed five hits and one earned run in in 4.2 innings pitched before being replaced by Morales, who allowed two hits and two runs in 1.1 innings pitched.
FMU returns to action on Friday, March 31 as they host Coastal Georgia in SUN action. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Broward College South Campus Field.
