Florida Memorial University Announces Kevin Nesfield as Interim Athletic Director

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | Florida Memorial University (FMU) is pleased to announce two significant leadership appointments within its athletics department. Kevin Nesfield has been elevated to the position of Interim Athletic Director, while Chandra Dorsey-Felton has been named Interim Deputy Athletic Director for Student Success & Compliance. Together, their combined expertise will enhance the operational and compliance functions of FMU's athletic programs.

Nesfield brings a wealth of experience to his new role. Appointed as Senior Associate Athletics Director for Student Success & Compliance in 2021, he has been pivotal in overseeing FMU's student services and compliance programs. His leadership includes risk management, investigating and submitting violations, and ensuring that all compliance policies and procedures remain up-to-date. Prior to joining FMU, Nesfield held key compliance positions at institutions such as the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, the University of New Orleans, Rice University, East Carolina, and Purdue University, where he earned both his B.A. (2003) and M.S. (2008). A former football student-athlete at Purdue, Nesfield's career is grounded in his dedication to compliance and the well-being of student-athletes.

Chandra Dorsey-Felton joins Nesfield in leadership as the Interim Deputy Athletic Director for Student Success & Compliance. With over 22 years of experience as a Division I coach, Chandra has been instrumental in compliance and academic success at several distinguished institutions, including McNeese State University, The University of Southern Mississippi, The University of Tulsa, Wichita State University, Texas State University, and Tulane University. Her dedication to both athletic and academic excellence, combined with her extensive experience, makes her a valuable asset to FMU's athletics department. Chandra holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Political Science from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), 2001, where she excelled as a student-athlete.

Together, Kevin Nesfield and Chandra Dorsey-Felton are set to lead FMU's athletics programs into a new era, with a focus on ensuring compliance, enhancing student-athlete success, and elevating the performance and reputation of FMU athletics.
