FMU suffers first loss of season to Freed-Hardman 67-62

HENDERSON, Tenn. | Florida Memorial University suffered its first loss of the season on the road to Freed-Hardeman University 67-62 in Tenn. The Lions were down by 14 at the half, and despite outscoring FHU 42-33 in the second half, it wasn't enough to overcome the deficit.

FMU was led by graduate student Brittany Rivera, who finished with 14 points, going 5-of-6 from the field along with five rebounds. Sophomore Kalea Rainey ended the night with 12 points, going 5-of-13 from the field and 2-of-2 from the free throw line. Senior Agar Farres Garcia led the team in rebounds with nine, while senior Makayla Transou generated three steals in the game.

The loss drops FMU to 4-1 on the year.

The Lions return to action Wednesday, November 13, when they'll host Fort Lauderdale for the second home game of the season. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m. at the FMU Wellness Center.
