No. 15 Lions snap 2-game skid with 20-point road victory over Banyans

BRADENTON, Fla. | No. 15 Florida Memorial University got back in the win column with an 89-69 victory over New College of Florida at Bradenton Christian School. The win snaps a two-game skid for the Lions, who pick up their first conference victory of the year, improving to 1-2 in SUN play.

FMU sharpshooter Calvin Payton led all Lions scorers with 25 points on 9-of-11 shooting from the field to go along with three assists, two boards and two steals while newcomer Mohamad Diallo added 21 points, five boards, and shot a perfect 9-for-9 from the field.

FMU led by nine at the break before pouring in 50 second-half points, pulling away for the important road victory.

As a team, the Lions bench outscored the Banyans 42-2, while enjoying a 31-28 advantage on the boards.

Florida Memorial University returns to the court on Monday, November 25 as they face Loyola (La.) in game one of the Battle at the Beach. Tip-off is slated for 3 p.m.
