ADRIAN, Mich. | The Florida Memorial University women's basketball team won their fifth straight contest, this time with a 61-51 victory on the road. Although the contest was a non-conference competition, the win keeps the Lions atop the SUN Conference standings as they remain a perfect 3-0 in the SUN.
After being tied at the end of the first quarter (17-17) and at halftime (33-33), the Lions outscored Sienna Heights 21-7 in the third quarter to pull away.
FMU was led by
Kamesha Moore who finished with 14 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field, including 4-of-5 from the charity stripe while teammate
Alyza Winston added 12 points, four steals, two assists and one rebound in the win.
Moore added three assists, two rebounds and two steals in the contest while fellow Lion
Makayla Transou chipped in with eight points and eight boards on the night.
The win moves FMU to 9-1 on the year.
The Lions return to action Monday, December 16, when they'll take on Marian University (Ind.). Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m. in Adrian. Mich.
