MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | Florida Memorial University's nail-biting contest against Webber International ended 67-62, giving FMU its third conference win on senior day in the FMU Wellness Center.
The Lions found its rhythm late in the first quarter as they took a lead over the Warriors. FMU held on to that lead throughout the second quarter, closing out the first half with a
Nyah Johnson buzzer beater from behind the arc, pushing the score to 34-25 in favor of the Lions.
Despite being outscored 24-15 in the third quarter, Florida Memorial regained the lead in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Warriors 18-13 in the final stanza.

Dasiah Thornton led the Lions with 16 points, going 4-of-10 from downtown to pair with her five rebounds. Philly native Johnson and new addition
Kalea Rainey also added 12 points apiece for FMU. Johnson also had four assists, four rebounds and two steals in the victory.
Former first-team All-SUN selection
Chantel Barnett made her return to the court after missing a handful of games due to injury, finishing with seven points, five boards, three assists and two blocks. She proved to be an emotional boost for a team in desperate need of another conference victory while it continues jockeying for the final spot in the SUN Women's Basketball Tournament.

Diamond Mays had a solid output, scoring seven points while grabbing a team-high nine boards in the win.
The victory puts FMU at 11-14 on the year, and 3-9 in SUN conference play.
Florida Memorial returns to action on Wednesday, February 21, as it travels to Lakeland, Fla. to take on Southeastern. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m.
