MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | Florida Memorial squandered a golden chance to stay in the top two slots in the SUN conference standings, but fell 89-81 to Webber International at the FMU Wellness Center on senior day. The loss drops FMU to 20-6 overall and 7-5 in conference play.
FMU led by a slim margin at the break (38-34) but allowed 55 second-half points in the loss. After allowing just three first half 3-pointers, FMU gave up 11 three-pointers in the latter stanza and couldn't recover, despite putting up a valiant effort in a contest that went down to the wire.
The Lions were led by post player
Latavious Mitchell, who finished with a double-double, scoring a team-high 17 points and grabbing 10 boards before fouling out of the contest. Mr. FMU,
Miles-Jordan Smartt, finished with 16 points and went 3-of-7 from behind the arc.

Chanze Cruesoe added 10 points, seven assists, five rebounds and four assists before also fouling out of the game.
The Lions return to action on Wednesday, February 21 as they travel to Southeastern. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m. in Lakeland, Fla.
