AVE MARIA, Fla. | The FMU volleyball teams began a new journey as Nancy Sikobe made her debut at Florida Memorial's head beach volleyball coach in the Lions close 3-2 loss to William Carey. 

Pairings Caroline Souza + Maria Rodriguez and Agustina Busque + Brianna Cooper secured victories for Florida Memorial, with the former earning their first win of the season.

The loss drops FMU to 1-2 on the year and 1-2 in conference play.

The Lions return to action Saturday March 2, where they'll travel back to Ave Maria to take on the University of Mobile. Game time is scheduled for 8 a.m.
