LAKE WALES, Fla. | Florida Memorial University fell in a tight 2-1 contest to Warner in Lake Wales. Both teams scored in the first half, but a scoreless second half meant the Lions couldn't mount a charge, handing them the loss.

Jada Samuels scored her second goal of the season to tie the match 1-1, with just a few minutes left in the half. The Royals answered back shortly after with their second goal of the match, taking the lead 2-1, and holding on in the second half, with no goals scored on each side.
Freshman
Alba Carcamo-Alvarado led the time in shots with six on the night, including one on goal, while teammates
Alexia Medrano Martinez and
Luna Berushi led in that category, with a pair apiece. Goalkeeper
Isabella Rueda played all 90 minutes, allowing two goals and four saves.
The loss drops FMU to 3-3-3 on the year and 1-2 in conference play.
The Lions return to action Wednesday, October 15, when they'll travel to Babson Park to take on Webber International. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m.
