MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | Florida Memorial University put on a dominating peformance against Tougaloo, defeating the Bulldogs 82-66 in the season opener. FMU put on a clinic in the second half, outscoring the Bulldogs 50-38, resulting in Joshua Mendoza earning his first win as head coach of the FMU men's basketball team.

Sophomore Sehmaj Mentor led the team with a stellar 20 point performance, going 6-of-10 from the field. Teammates Mark-Anthony McReed, Aa'reyon Munir-Jones and Devin Carter added massive contributions, with all scoring 10+ points respectively, with Munir-Jones and standout Micah Morgan co-leading in rebounds with seven.

The win moves FMU to 1-0 on the season.

The Lions return to action Wednesday, November 5, when they'll travel to Marion, Ind. to take on Indiana Wesleyan. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.
