FULLERTON, Calif. | Florida Memorial University dropped a close game against No. 13 Hope International in a heartbreaking 77-76 overtime loss in the first of two games for FMU in California.
Five Lions scored double-digit points, led by graduate student
Jeffrey Selden, who scored 17, along with eight rebounds and three steals. Sophomore
Petar Asceric finished the day with 14 points, going 7-of-9 from the field. Sophomore
Sehmaj Mentor added 14 points for FMU, while teammates
Devin Carter and
Tristan Thomas scored 13 and 12 points, while Thomas led the team in rebounds with nine.
The loss drops FMU to 8-5 on the season.
The Lions return to action Tuesday, December 30, when they'll take on The Master's. Tip-off is slated for 3 p.m. in Santa Clarita.
