LAKE WALES, Fla. | Florida Memorial University won another road contest, this time by the score of 4-2 over Webber at Royals Field in non-conference competition.
The Lions jumped on top early in the first inning when heavy hitter senior 
Raymond Rivera generated a 2-RBI double to right field which brought home 
Armando Ramirez and 
Christopher Marte. However, the Warriors tied things up in the third inning with two runs of their own.
In the top of the fourth, speedster senior 
Pheron Charlton produced an RBI-single up the middle that scored Marquis Clarke for the game-winning run. In the fifth inning, FMU added an insurance run when Marte cranked a home run to left field.
FMU pitcher 
Jesus Portillo was credited with the victory, striking out two batters while allowing no earned runs on four hits. 
Andrew Tano came in for relief and earned the save as he pitched a total of three innings, striking out two Warriors batters.
FMU returns to the diamond on Tuesday, February 18 as they host Atlantis in an exhibition.  First pitch is set for 2 p.m. at Harry T. Moore Baseball Field.
