LAKELAND, Fla. | Florida Memorial University's volleyball team struggled in the conference opener against Southeastern, falling to the Fire 3-0 (25-5, 25-13, 25-14).

Julia Carneiro led the team in blocks with one apiece. Junior
Carolina Alonso led the team in assists with six, while sophomore Serena Williams led the charge in digs with nine.
The loss drops FMU to 0-9 on the year and 0-1 in conference play.
Florida Memorial University returns to action Tuesday, September 9, when they'll hosts Atlantis in an exhibition. First serve is slated for 7 p.m. at the FMU Wellness Center.
