MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | Florida Memorial University completed the season sweep on Warner after defeating the Royals 86-66 on Divine Nine Day. The Lions had a five-point lead going into the half, before exploding in the second-half, outscoring the Royals 49-34 to seal the win.
Teammates
Sehmaj Mentor and
Devin Carter co-lead the team in scoring with 17 points each. Senior
Morgan Brewer added 16 points for FMU, along with a team-leading eight rebounds, while teammates
Aa'reyon Munir-Jones and
Braxton Lewis each scored 10 points for the Lions.
The win moves FMU to 15-7 on the year and 7-3 in conference play.
The Lions return to action Saturday, January 31, when they'll travel to take on No. 4 Ave Maria. Tip-off is slated for 4 p.m.
