MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | Florida Memorial held a nine point lead in the fourth quarter in the first game of the new year against Ave Maria. Despite this, the Gyrenes mounted a charge and took the lead from FMU with less than three minutes ago. The Lions tried to keep pace, but fell to Ave 61-57 to fall to 6-4 on the season and 2-2 in conference play.

Kalea Rainey led the team with 16 points, while sophomore
Jazlynn Givens led in rebounds with six, along with seven points. Junior
Sa'mya Stevens led in steals with three and chipped in eight points for FMU.
