Lions dominate Warriors in 60-30 victory

Box Score MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | Florida Memorial University put on a masterclass against Webber, defeating the Warriors 60-30 in a dominanting performance. The Lions controlled the game from start to finish, and the defense was near unbreakable, holding the Warriors to single-digit points in each of the first three quarters of the game.

Senior Jasmine Worthy made her season debut and made her presence known, scoring 23 points on 8-of-14 from the field, along with 13 rebounds, earning a double-double. Junior Kalea Rainey scored 11 points for FMU, including a perfect 2-of-2 from the free-throw line. Senior Dominique Garcia Blackwood put on a great defensive performance, with 10 rebounds, including nine defensive, with junior Aalexuz Bourne adding 10 rebounds, split even on offense and defense.

The win moves FMU to 7-4 on the year and 3-2 in conference play.

The Lions return to action Saturday, January, 10, when they'll travel to College of Coastal Georgia. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m. in Brunswick, Ga.
