LAKE WALES, Fla. | Florida Memorial University snapped an eight-game winless streak, after defeating the Royals in game three of the series 3-2 on the road. After falling 4-11 in the second game of the series, the Lions go into the final game of the series with a chance to split with the Royals.
Teammates
Don McKnight III and
Damarion Butler co-led the team in runs with two apiece, recording one in each game. Teammates
Ray Sobrino and
Wilber Puertas each recorded three hits throughout the day. Freshman,
Wade Francis (3-3), got the win, allowing only five hits and two earned runs, while striking out six Royals.
The split moves FMU to 15-15 on the year and 2-9 in conference play.
FMU returns to action, Saturday, March 28 for the series finale against Warner. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m. at Daly Field.
