SAN ANTONIO, Texas | Florida Memorial University's men's basketball team made its presence known during the HBCU All-Star Game on April 18. Senior

Jeffrey Selden represented the Lions, and made their presents known, with Carter taking home the MVP award, after leading his team to the win.
"I just want to thank God first and foremost," said Carter. "Without him, this wouldn't be possible and I am very thankful to be chosen to compete in such a historic event. MVP is a blessing."
Carter and Selden played on opposite sides during the game. Carter finished the day with 21 points, leading his team to the 102-101 victory in overtime. Selden scored six points, along with 10 rebounds, six assists, a block, and two steals.
"All glory to the most high," said Selden. "It was a blessing to play and experience this trip.
Carter and Selden were named first-team All-SUN Conference for the 2025-26 season. In their first years with the Lions, they led the team to their third straight SUN Conference Tournament, earning the number four seed. Carter averaged 16.8 points per game, while Selden averaged 12.1 points per game, along with 5.8 rebounds per game.

Anthony Anderson. "Florida Memorial should be very happy for them. Those young men have reprsented themselves and the school very well."
THE HBCU All-Star Game is part of the HBCU Live Xperience weekend, a two-day weekend where students can interact with fellow HBCUs, as well as win scholarships and attend career fairs. The HBCU All-Star Games are designed to showcase and celebrate outstanding talent from HBCUs competing at the NAIA level, while also highlighting the tradition, culture, and excellence associated with Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
