Box Score Florida Memorial University's volleyball team takes down Ave Maria on Saturday afternoon with the Lions coming out on top in four sets. The Lions defeated AMU in three out of four sets (25-20, 25-18, 21-25, 25-15) for the victory!
 
Florida Memorial got an early lead in the opening set and never looked back for the 25-20 win. With Florida Memorial leading in the second set, Ave Maria scored nine straight points to take a commanding 16-9 lead in the set. FMU went on to lose the set 18-25.
 
Florida Memorial overcame an early third set lead by Ave Maria and won seven of the final nine points to take the set 25-21. FMU closed out the match with a 25-15 fourth set win.
 
Jessica Medina led the Lady Lions with 13 kills and 21 digs. Yulianna Charris added 12 kills. Rebecca Garcia (15) and Tailar Jackson (15) each tallied 10-plus digs while Francheska Rivera finished with 36 assists.
 
Florida Memorial returns to action on Wednesday when they head to West Palam Beach to take on Keiser at 7pm.
