Lions Fall To Purdue University Northwest, 7-5

Box Score             Florida Memorial University's spring break came to a close as they were defeated by the Purdue Northwestern Panthers Panthers, 7-5. Unusual errors cost the Lions the game as they committed five on the day. The loss brought the Lions' spring break record to 5-2, which averages out to a .714 winning percentage.

In the loss the Lions produced thirteen hits in the game, three more than the Panthers. Leading the offense for the Lions was Sergio Chil. Chil had a monster game, as he went 4-5 with two doubles and two RBIs. Chris Clara also had a big game for the Lion's as he went 2-5 with a home run and 3 RBIs.

            The Lions record has fallen to 15-7 for the season, which also happens to be the best start in school history. FMU opens up conference play once again, as they take on the Webber International Warriors on Friday, March 16th at 3:30 pm at Harry T. Moore Baseball Field. The Lions are looking to earn their fourth series sweep of the year, as the Warriors are currently on a two game winning streak.
