FMU Women's Volleyball opened the 2018-2019 season against Missouri Baptist University on Thursday night in the Lion's Den.
FMU came out firing on all cylinders early and often in the first set of the match. Despite the height advantage that Missouri Baptist had on FMU, the hitters found their way through the defense and captured the first set 25-19. Leading the way for the Lions was
Jesennia Bonilla with 6 service points and Sammyra Albarran with 4 kills in the first set.
The second set was a different story. Missouri Baptist made adjustments and tightened up their defense and captured the 2
nd set 25-17. MBU took advantage of FMU's missed serves and miscues on offense to secure the third and fourth set 25-23 and 25-17.
The Lions will be on the road Friday and Saturday as they participate in the Edward Waters University Tournament in Jacksonville.
