(
MIAMI GARDENS, FLA.)— The Florida Memorial University women's volleyball team will go across the street to local rival, St. Thomas University, Wednesday, October 16.
The Lions are coming back from a disappointing five-set loss to Southeastern University and are in hopes to gain another win and secure their spot in the top six.
"A game between two rivals always has an emotional component," said head coach
Marrita Crockett-Moulton. "After two consecutive losses, we are very anxious to take our frustrations out on the next opponent, and it just so happens to be St. Thomas."
Florida Memorial is currently tied for third in The Sun Conference (12-7, 6-3) while St. Thomas is at the sixth spot (6-12, 4-4).
The last time these teams met the Lions hosted the Bobcats in their conference opener, in which FMU aggressively closed out a win in four sets (25-20, 19-25, 25-21 and 25-17).
The match will take place at 7P.M.
