(MIAMI GARDENS, Fla.) -- The Florida Memorial University volleyball team will host conference opponent Ave Maria, Saturday, October 19.
The Lions currently sit one position above the Gyrenes in the conference rankings sitting at 6-4 while Ave Maria comes in at 4-5.
Overall FMU is 13-8 in the season while AMU comes in at 9-9.
In their last match up the Lions traveled to Ave Maria to return home with a 3-1 win.
In that game, sophomore
Rachele Mancinelli, and juniors
Sammyra Albarran and
Daphinie Correa all finished with double-digit kills. Mancinelli and Albarran had 11 while Correa added 10.
Freshman
Biancaliz Cruz added another nine kills for the Lions while junior
Keisha Santana finished with a game-high 30 digs while classmate
Francheska Rivera dished out 24 assists.
Junior
Alanis Santana also added 17 assists in the win. Mancinelli, Rivera and Correa combined for seven aces while Mancinelli, Correa and Maric each contributed four blocks.
The Lions' last game was a 3-0 win over non conference opponent Florida National, while Ave Marie comes into the match after falling 0-3 to Keiser.
