(MONTGOMERY, Al) -- The 2019-2020 men's basketball season will commence over the weekend as the team participates in the Jimmy Faulkner Classic, November 1-2. 

Florida Memorial will open their season against Middle Georgia University, November 1 at 10:30 AM. The Knight's were picked seventh in their preseason poll while the Lions were picked to finish eighth in the Sun Conference.

FMU got to show a little bit of their skills earlier this month as the team scrimmaged Game Changers Academy, Saturday, October 19. Fans got a glimpse into how far the team has come since last season. 

The Lions finished the previous year with a rough 5-25 overall record and came away with only three conference wins. 

With some much talent on the court, Florida Memorial is eager to start the season off on a high note with two back-to-back wins. They will take on the home team, Saturday, November 2 at 11A.M.

The Eagles are 1-0 so far this season after a win over Oakwood University, Monday, October 28. They finished last season 19-12 and ended the year in a one point loss in the conference tournament.
