(MIAMI GARDENS, FLA) -- After a home opening loss to Eastern Oregon University, the Florida Memorial volleyball team prepares to host its second ranked team in as many days when they welcome Missouri Baptist University to the Wellness Center on Thursday, August 22. The Spartans are ranked No. 4 in the preseason NAIA volleyball poll released on August 14.
The Lions enter the match 2-1 after falling to 10th ranked Eastern Oregon earlier this week. Missouri Baptist, meanwhile, has yet to record a win after starting the season 0-3.
In the last match up between the two teams, MBU defeated FMU 3-1 at home on August 23, 2018. The Lions came out strong in the first set defeating their opponent 25-19.
Missouri Baptist made adjustments over the next three sets that allowed them to come away with the win, scoring 25-17, 25-23 and 25-17 respectively.
MBU leads FMU 2-0 in the series, one in which the Lions hope to change this week. Their matchup begins at 6:30 P.M. in the FMU Wellness Center.
