Women's Soccer Eager To Take The Field

(DAVIE, FLA.) --  The unpredictable Florida weather is not going to scare the FMU women's soccer team away from an interstate match up this Saturday, September 7th at Nova Southeastern University.

Despite unforeseen circumstances causing a forfeit, and Hurricane Dorian disrupting their home opener, the Lady Lions are more than excited to play their first game.

Head Coach Marino Torrens Jr. is eager to get a head start on the season as well. Returning eight players from last year, he's confident that this season will be an improved one.

"We are really excited to play a team like Nova," said Coach Marino. "Last season, we had a really hard-fought match against them and the girls are itching to be out on the field."

In past years, the Lions have struggled against the Sharks, but with the returners and their new style of play, they are confident this will have a different outcome.

Nova Southeastern comes into the match 1-0 after defeating Florida National University 4-0.

The game will be played at NSU Soccer Complex with a 7 P.M. start time.
